I have a thing for water these days, don’t know why!!!! The HEAT maybe. But what I really love is that the world sounds so peaceful underwater,  there is a soothing rhythm that calms my head.

Summer of Love

In 1969, a monumental music festival changed the world, it was called Woodstock.  More than half a million people came together, united in a message of peace, openness and cultural expression, and demonstrated how a generation could be heard.   Today this tradition lives on. Music festivals around the world play homage to this original vision and continue to be very special gatherings,  where attendees can enjoy nature, celebrate music and make a statement. Fashion definitely been one of the loudest of all.

The Governor’s ball music fest took place in New York this past weekend, with a lineup  that  included:  Fionna Apple, Devendra Banhart, Modest Mouse, Cults,Explosions in the Sky and Beck amongst others.  We spotted between the crowds some really inspiring outfits that not only reflected current trends, but really made a statement . Shorts with loose tshirts, crop tops, crochet accents, floral prints, long skirts all  paired with either boots, sandals or sneakers. Most importantly we saw people united celebrating life, music, friends, love and the start of an amazing summer.

“A vinyl record is a disk made of vinyl plastic. The sound is recorded on a very fine line or groove which goes around and around in a spiral from the outside edge of the disk to the center. The phonograph plays the sound with a needle that touches the groove. A record usually has different music on each side.

Thomas Edison made early phonographs in the 1870s. He originally used wax cylinders to record the sound, but disks were soon used instead, first made out of bakelite,  and then vinyl”.

Vinyl records lost popularity but never went out of production. Now, in recent years vinyl is gaining popularity, while CD record shops have gone out of business, more and more vinyl only record shops are opening. Many argue the higher sound quality of vinyl compared to newer formats.
